Live Brief; Fusion legal graffiti wall in Bournemouth Documentary
There is a number of issues surrounding this subject at present, the wall is facing becoming illegal to paint due to vandalism in the are of the wall. I am working on creating a documentary that will inform people about this graffiti wall and the good things that happen there. I want to show the council the good that the wall is doing, and try to get people who use the wall to treat it with respect and to not abuse the privilege by painting near the wall instead of the actual designated space.
This is a test run of me painting at the wall filmed by photographer Jack Gill.
This is the style of video we want to go for with the documentary for the Fusion legal graffiti wall documentary.

Hi Brandon,You’re Tango? I think you’re stuff is good and thanks for keeping it on the fences.Unfortunately, there are a couple of younger kids lately who have started tagging the floor where we can’t buff.Because of these people, it looks like the area will soon become illegal again. We’re trying to find a way to keep it somehow but it might become a commission-only area.I think it would be interesting to chat with you properly and generate some ideas for your project. Are you free to pop in on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon next week? Thanks,From: . . It was great chatting with you.I’ve just spoken to Mark and he’s also very interested in the idea of you making a documentary about the current challenges facing Add Kolor. Are you free next week on Tuesday or Friday afternoon to agree your project proposal with us?Also, Mark said it would be quite useful if you were able to propose a rough project timeline for us. He isn’t sure whether we should wait until your documentary is underway before we start Home & Away or whether we should just crack on with H&A and let you guys film the aftermath whenever you’re ready. So your timeline might help us to make that decision. Here are some links to the Add Kolor clips on YouTube:And this is the Hip Hop charity which I chair in my spare time. Mark volunteers on that one too.Let me know about next week, -
New Forest model
Interior Architecture student Amie briefed me to design and paint boards that are to be used as part of her model of the New Forest
She gave me a list of words, and ideas she had about her model for me to then interpret onto the boards. Typographically illustrated.
I used spray paint and paint marker pen over the top for the background, and paint marker pen for the typographic illustrations.

D&AD brief
This is the finished cover
I traced a photo of the main character of the film. I chose to make the illustration quite linear with thick outlines, which I inverted to white, as I thought this would make it pop off of the background nicely.

D&AD brief
I chose to illustrate a white lies magazine cover for the movie Super 8
I made this background using spray paint on a big wooden board, and then taking a flick of it. It’s a galaxy. See, you can see all the little white stars everywhere.
I thought this would make a nice background for the image as it kind of gives me the feel of the scene in Super 8 where they are filming in the night by the train tracks under the stars, and plus theres aliens in the film, and I’m guessing aliens live in a galaxy thats looks like this one somewhere.

GROUP DAY PROJECT: TRUTHS
Group members: Malin, Janne, Sam, Adrian and I
In groups, we were set the task of designing 3 posters, which had to work as a set. We had to chose a theme, and one poster has to show common knowledge, another to show an extraordinary fact, and the other to show a statement that is a complete lie. however they all have to be equally believable.
We began by brainstorming interesting facts that we all know in our group, we got onto the subject of the bbc documentary series Blue Planet, as there are some really interesting facts on there. The ones that stood out in particular were the ones about the blue whale, the largest mammal on earth.
So we began experimenting and sketching, playing around with the facts that we had. One of our favourite facts was the one about the whales heart being as big a car. We tried to play around with this by sketching out ideas like showing the whales heart as a car etc. and so forth for other facts we had been working with.
We worked on this individually until we had all came up with strong enough ideas to show to the rest of the group, to which we then discussed each others ideas and decided on where we would take our designs next. We decided to use Janne’s idea for a triptych style set of posters as the base for our final set of posters, and then continued to develop this as a team. I think we chose this as we may have been over complicating things at first, by trying to be too technical with our designs, and we saw in the end that maybe simplifying it was the best option.
The last image shown is our final piece, which we hadn’t finished as much as we would have liked before the deadline, but overall i think we were all quite pleased with the outcome.
I think we all worked together really well as a team, we were able to discuss and understand each others ideas, and we all agreed on which of our ideas to bring together to create a final outcome. Making the project run quite smoothly.

Magazine Layouts, day project
We put into groups and given a brief to create a magazine based on a subject that we were given at random. We were given Gardening, with different sections such as Urban Growing, Herbs, Grow Your Own, Orchids etc. for which we had to create a double page spread each and then work together on the front and back cover.
We chose to aim our magazine at a target audience age range of 18-25, as we wanted the purpose of the magazine to be to encourage young people to get into gardening, by using a quirky but informative style throughout the magazine.
With my magazine layout in particular, I think I over complicated the layout, so the reading pattern is not as pleasing to the eye as I would have liked. Although I think the content is good, and the illustrations I did work quite well for the quirky style I was aiming for, so I think the layout has potential. With a little more time spent working on the arrangement of the layout I think it could be quite good, an I’m inspired to continue working on the magazine in my own time.
